ESSENTIAL CLEANING TIPS FOR YOUR HOME
From old-school natural cleaning solutions to simple hacks and clever tricks.
Pet hair solutions

Use a damp rubber glove to remove hidden hair in the carpet or upholstery fibers.
While wearing the damp glove, run your hand over any soft surface to pick up pet hair that a vacuum may have left.
How to clean a burned pot

To clean a badly scorched pot without scrubbing, cover the burned area with a liberal amount of baking soda and pour in enough boiling water to fill the pot a third to halfway up.
When the water is cool enough to touch, head in with your sponge and use the baking soda solution to scrub away the scorch. Dump the solutiion and wash the pot with hot, soapy water.
Natural solution to remove mold

Pour undiluted white vinegar into a spray bottle and apply to the moldy area.
Let it sit for an hour, then wipe the area clean with water and allow it to dry.
Finding your drain a little slow

Squirt a little dish soap down there and run the hot water.
Dish soap is formulated to cut through grease.
Usually that grease is on your dishes and cookware, but it can also accumulate in your drain/pipes.
Cutting board cleaning method

Baking soda, salt, vinegar, and hydrogen peroxide.
First, soak the board in a white vinegar solution or spray it with a 3% hydrogen peroxide solution.
Let the board sit for at least five minutes before washing it again with soap and water.
Then, make a paste that’s one part baking soda, one part salt, and one part water to scrub out surface stains.
Remove a red wine stain (Carpets and rugs)

As soon as you stain your carpet with red wine, blot as much of it as you can with a paper towel, and then cover the entire stain with salt until you can’t see the red wine stain anymore.
Let the salt soak into the wet stain and then dry.
As the salt dries, it should suck up the stain. Then, simply vacuum everything up
